Global Ambassadors Mission
The Global Ambassadors Program seeks to create globally minded members from the standpoint of cultural humility through sincere connections between our local and global communities. The program reflects UW-Tacoma’s urban serving mission through developing members’ interest and understanding of global issues through both global and local lenses and contexts. Members with learn to build meaningful relationships with people from diverse backgrounds while becoming comfortable having civil conversations with people of differing opinions. It is the desire to create a safe space for conversations between our members. These conversations, rooted in cultural humility, allows members to better articulate what cultural humility means, why it is important, and are meant to allow members to take what was discussed into their everyday lives.
Global Ambassadors Program and UWTea Time Collaboration
These are two separate programs which have come together for the 2020-2021 academic year to encourage student engagement. We currently meet together though previously meetings have been separate. A decision for this continuity has not yet been made for the 2021-2022 academic year.
