Winter quarter 2025 registration begins on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
Tasks to Complete Now
✓ Complete the pre-registration steps, which are required each quarter in order to add courses to your schedule. No need to wait until your registration day; you can complete this requirement now and avoid delays on registration day!
✓ Find your registration date.
✓ Review important winter deadlines.
✓ Verify that you do not have any registration holds by checking MyUW or the MyPlan Registration screen. Also check your tuition balance. Common causes of registration holds may be student fiscal-related, in addition to incomplete immunization requirements or not finishing the Husky Prevention Response student course.
✓ Browse the Winter 2025 Time Schedule. Or, use the UW Tacoma Time Schedule Quick Search, which has filters to narrow down your course search by general education requirements, credit amount, mode of instruction, and links to course materials.
✓ Seek guidance with your academic advisor if you need assistance with course selection or have questions about course prerequisites. University Academic Advising has drop-in advising opportunities for pre-major students throughout the quarter.
✓ Be prepared to make course enrollment requests. Some courses require entry codes or permission, which you must obtain from the academic program directly. The Office of the Registrar does not distribute entry codes.
✓ Become familiar with the registration policies and procedures, as there are limitations during certain registration periods. For example, undergraduate students may not register for more than 19 credits until Registration Period 3.
Additional Information
Knowing that trading, selling, or buying open spots is a breach of the Registration Tampering Abuse Policy. Consequences include referral to the Student Code of Conduct process, a Registrar's Hold on your record, and potential diploma withholding for graduating students until the conduct process is completed.
Husky Prevention & Response (Title IX) Student Course
Husky Prevention & Response is a course about preventing and responding to sex- and gender-based violence and harassment. All students are required to complete the 60–90-minute online student course. If you are a student employee, you must also complete a separate employee course, which takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.
UW Immunization Requirements
If you have not satisfied the University’s immunization requirements, you will not be able to register for classes for winter 2025 until the registration block is resolved. Log into MyUW and look for a critical notice or MyPlan registration screen to see if you have a registration block. Visit the UW Tri-Campus Immunization Requirements website for more information.
Sign Up to Monitor UW-IT System Outages
In the rare event that there is a disruption of a UW-Information Technology system, such as the registration services, you can monitor the status of the reinstatement of the services by signing up for the eOutage notices.
