Welcome to the Faculty Resource Center!
These pages are a digital extension of the people, resources and ideas you'll find at our physical space on the UW Tacoma campus at Walsh Gardner 208. Created to bring together research, teaching, and faculty support services at UW Tacoma, the Faculty Resource Center (FRC) is much more than people, workshops, conversations and a welcoming space on campus.
The FRC is an idea that focuses on collaboration, exploration, and just-in-time answers when you need them. It's a place to stop in for a cup of tea and a thoughtful ear. A place to discuss your research proposals or your course. A place to find collaborators and colleagues across the disciplines, and to fill your pail with new ideas, writing groups, exploring technology and promising practices.
Stop into the Center. Attend one of the forums and workshops. Join a writing community. Bring a few colleagues for a facilitated discussion. Get help exploring and using new tools. Grow. Stretch. Breathe. Think deeply. Learn. At the UW Tacoma Faculty Resource Center, the possibilities are endless.
Writing Groups
Each quarter during the academic year, 3-4 diverse times per week are chosen for scholars to gather, support each other, and share progress. Participants may come every week or when you can. All are welcome to come, write, share! Check the FRC schedule for the current quarter days and times.
Pedagogy and Practice
The FRC hosts both informal and 1:1 support for eLearning, innovative pedagogy, and UW/UWT supported tools. Schedule a session whenever you are ready to plunge deeper into new ideas for engaged teaching and learning.
Lunchtime Lectures
Monthly talks by colleagues are offered throughout the academic year. Join us in lively discussions of UWT's diverse scholarly pursuits.
If you are interested in utilizing the FRC for faculty related events, research groups or learning communities, please schedule the space through 25 Live.
