The University of Curriculum Office (UWCO) maintains instructions and FAQs for undergraduate program proposals , which includes minors and options within majors. There is also a detailed flowchart of the process.  All new programs and credentials are submitted through the UW Curriculum Management system (UWCM).  

Prior to submitting a Notice of Proposal (NOP) or program proposal to the UWCO, the minor or option within a major should be first approved at the School level and by the Dean. The NOP should then be forwarded to the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs review and signature.
