Our Vision
As an urban-serving institution dedicated to the people of the South Sound region, we envision a place where everyone has equitable access to educational opportunities to achieve their dreams, free from barriers of discrimination or institutional inequalities.
Our Mission
We foster meaningful and mutual partnerships that advance the transformative values of diversity, equity and inclusion in programming, professional development and community service. We offer educational and social support by offering culturally sustaining programs and events that create a sense of belonging and center the diverse needs of our students, staff, faculty and community members.
Land Acknowledgement
We recognize that all of us at UW Tacoma learn, live, and work on or near the ancestral homeland of the Coast Salish people. In particular, our campus is situated on the current and traditional land of the Puyallup. You can read our full land acknowledgement on the Chancellor's site.
