Pre-Law Diversity Pipeline Programs are generally short programs (from a few months to a year) that support students who have been historically underrepresented in the legal field to explore and pursue legal education. These are usually offered for free or at a very low cost and include an LSAT prep course or other financial resources for applying to law school. We highly recommend applying if you feel such a program would be a good fit for you! Some programs only take students in certain stages of their undergraduate study, so it’s a good idea to search early to determine when to apply. Some programs are remote while others require travel to a host city.

The ABA Council for Diversity in the Educational Pipeline and the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) created the Pipeline Diversity Directory in response to the critical need to increase diversity in the educational pipeline leading to the profession.
LexScholars is a diversity pipeline initiative aimed at learning more about effective methods for increasing law school diversity by providing more than 1,200 aspiring lawyers with resources and guidance to pursue their goal of attending law school.
Legal Pathways Fellows
The Legal Pathways Fellows is the University of Washington Tacoma’s internal pipeline program, open to current UW Tacoma students and alumni. Every year, Legal Pathways supports 12-15 historically underrepresented students/alumni through LSAT preparation, mentorship, and workshops.
