- Teaching Professor renewals - Notification of renewal decision for all continuing Teaching Professors that started during previous academic years due to the EVCAA office by the 1st.
- EVCAA office sends reappointment notifications to Teaching Professors by the 15th.
- Summer schedule due to the Registrar's office by the 31st.
- Winter break
January
- Teaching schedule due for the upcoming academic year by the 31st.
- 2nd Year Review notice sent to Assistant Professors (tenure-track and research).
February
- Vote on Teaching Professor, Affiliate, Adjunct, and Acting appointments - Notification of renewal decision for all continuing appointments that started during the current academic year due March 2nd.
- Vote on delegating Part-time Lecturer votes to the programs (September 16th-June 15th).
- Vote on delegating emergency hires for autumn quarter to a SET sub-committee during the summer quarter. This committee is comprised of the program Chairs (June 16th-September 15th).
The short-term voting guidelines are in the Faculty Code under Sections 24-52 and 24-53, “The voting faculty of an academic unit may, by majority vote, delegate authority to recommend the renewal of affiliate or clinical faculty, research associate, or annual or quarterly part-time lecturer appointments to an elected committee of its voting faculty.” This applies to new appointments as well.
March
- Teaching Professor, Affiliate, Adjunct, and Acting reappointment notices sent out to by the 31st.
April
- Chair to work with Program Coordinators on the committee meeting days/times for the upcoming academic year.
- Program committees vote on merit for Part-time Lecturers (evaluations Spring-Winter).
- All faculty searches must be completed.
May
- 2nd Year Assistant Professor review decisions submitted to the EVCAA office by the 15th.
- Program committees vote for upcoming academic year Part-time Lecturer reappointments. Include the course(s), that they will teach.
- Annual reports from full-time faculty due yearly on the last Friday on or before May 1st.
- Merit meeting and votes are due by the third week in May.
- Promotion and Tenure - Faculty let Dean know that they are going up for promotion (mandatory and non-mandatory), by the 31st.
- Provide committee member names
June
- Merit review recommendations and votes are due to EVCAA office on or before June 1st.
- Outside Professional Work forms submitted via email for EVCAA approval due by the 15th.
- Promotion and Tenure - External review template due by the 15th.
- Candidate works with the committee to provide a list of names.
- EVCAA notifies Assistant Professors of 2nd Year Review decision by or before June 15th.
- Dean’s annual review of individual faculty members due June 30th.
