Your Engineering Future Starts in Tacoma
The City of Tacoma, in partnership with the University of Washington Tacoma and Degrees of Change, invites students to join an exciting initiative designed to connect education and industry.
This collaboration, powered by departments like Environmental Services, Public Works, Planning & Development Services, Tacoma Water, and Tacoma Power, offers a unique opportunity for local students interested in engineering. Participants gain hands-on, real-world experience by working with the City while receiving financial support through student worker stipends. This program is more than just a job — it’s a chance to develop critical skills, contribute innovative ideas, and build valuable connections. Graduates from this program are encouraged to return to Tacoma as skilled engineers, passionate about public service and reflective of the rich diversity of our community.
