The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) protects the privacy of a student's education records. As a general rule, the UW will not release records or information to a third party (including a parent or spouse) without a student's written consent. To allow staff to discuss the status of financial aid with a parent or another person, admitted students must complete the online Release of Information Form.
