Upcoming speakers

The free Alumni Speaker Series brings alumni back to campus to share their stories and career advice with current students and fellow alumni. Speakers have earned a University of Washington Tacoma degree, professional certification, or in special cases, have attended a University of Washington campus for at least two years and have graduated from another accredited college or university. This also includes UW alumni who live and/or work in Tacoma or the South Sound and have a positive impact on UW Tacoma, Tacoma, and the South Sound.

Daniel Gray

Daniel Gray (BS '16; MS '17)

Musician & Music Educator

Daniel prioritizes live performance and practical music theory for guitar. You can see sample performances on his YouTube channel StrayeusGuitar. He has 16 years of experience playing guitar, started learning guitar from his father and cousins, and took professional music lessons with Chris Bayman from 2017 to 2019. He has multiple years of experience teaching guitar in the Tacoma area, and performs weekly in public jams. He is currently part of the local bands: Runaway Gun, Kimchi and the Alien Senators, and Fun Vegetables To Cook With. Daniel earned his B.S. in computer engineering and his M.S. in Computer Science. Prior to pursuing music full-time, Daniel was a software engineer working with Infoblox. His latest interest is the hunt for radical tone.
