Copyright Agreement
I acknowledge and agree that, in consideration for my participation at the GID Lab:
1. All copyrightable materials and inventions created or developed at GID Lab, and any materials or inventions created or developed using University of Washington resources, including but not limited to university facilities, equipment, personnel, or intellectual property, shall be governed by the University of Washington Policy on patent, invention, and copyright (
Executive Order 36).
2. Any University-Owned or University-Sponsored Materials under Executive Order 36, as determined by the University in its sole discretion, may not be used, copied, distributed, displayed, or modified without the prior written approval of the University.
3. All materials, whether in draft or final form, I create or contribute in creating related to my work at GID Lab are produced for use by the GID Lab and that such materials and contributions made by me are works made for hire as defined by the United States Copyright Act of 1976 and United States copyright law. If for any reason any such materials or contribution made by me are determined at any time not to be a work made for hire, I hereby assign to the University of Washington all right, title and interest therein, including all copyrights as well as renewals and extensions thereto.
4. If I wish to use any of the materials, whether in draft or final form, I create or contribute in creating related to my work at GID Lab, I must first have prior written permission from the GID Lab.
5. Upon the termination or expiration of my work with GID Lab, I shall return all materials I received, created, or contributed in making, whether in draft or final form, to GID Lab.
6. I have been advised by the University to seek independent legal counsel, and have had the opportunity to do so, prior executing this agreement.
7. Failure by me to comply with these terms may result in adverse action, including but not limited to, termination of my participation at the GID lab, and legal action for breach of contract and/or intellectual property infringement.
