The 5th Annual Global Engagement Conference
on May 22 was a tremendous success with around 200 attendees including over 60 undergraduates across five colleges and universities presenting research and projects connected to the theme: "SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS FOR OUR INTERDEPENDENT WORLD." Dr. Dawn Michele Whitehead, VP Office of Global Citizenship, AAC&U, delivered the keynote, "Global Innovation for the Public Good: Advancing Our Societies Locally and Globally."
Tacoma Mayor Victoria Woodards joined Dr. Whitehead and Dean Rachel Endo, UWT School of Education in an afternoon panel on "Global Education for Career Readiness and Community Impact," moderated by UWT Associate Vice Chancellor, Dr. Divya McMillin.
