The UW Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies honored Zack Pattin, a 2015 graduate of UWT’s Ethnic, Gender & Labor Studies program with their Distinguished Labor Studies Alumni Award and Distinguished Supporter Award.
Professor Ka Yee Yeung’s research is about making life easier for researchers working with big data. Now, she has become the first UW Tacoma faculty member honored as the Virginia & Prentice Bloedel Professor. She is using the endowment to give more students experience in research.

Rafael Saucedo (’17, ’19), initially struggled in college until he found his community at UW Tacoma. Now he has made a career of helping others build community and financial health.
Alumni Ben Pauli and Vivian Kao (both SIAS ’05) have gone from one side of the classroom to the other. Their journey to becoming university professors started at UW Tacoma.
