The Environmental Public Health (EPH) Policy and Legislative Program seeks an intern to help support the development of a division-wide policy agenda. You’ll help connect existing research with various policy initiatives, organize policy documentation and communications plans, and provide copy writing support to the program. If you’re interested in a career in environmental and/or social policy, this is a fantastic opportunity to work with and learn from a team with deep experience in regulatory work and policy development.
Some of what you’ll do:

Collect documentation:

Schedule interviews with program managers and subject matter experts.

Help inventory documentation for policy initiatives across the division.

Communications:

Reference existing communications plans to develop policy statements.

Support development of a comprehensive EPH Policy and Legislative Agenda and Communications Plan.

What you bring to the table:

Organized and detail-oriented, with an eye for nuance.

Communicates effectively, with professionalism, diplomacy, and tact.

Strong ability to provide thematic analysis and use plain language to synthesize research.

Knowledge of or willingness to learn about environmental justice and health equity.
Desired:

Experience with SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook Calendars.

Understanding of levels of government and collaborative governance.

Interest in environmental public health connection with urban planning and community development.
Minimum Requirements:

Currently enrolled as an Undergraduate in a Major within the School of Urban Studies
Requested:

Start October 14th or 28th.
-
Work remotely 5 to 10 hours per week.
-
2-3 hours of availability during regular office hours.
-
Can be a 1-2 quarter commitment.
