ARISE Celebration
The Center for Equity & Inclusion's ARISE event stands for Advocacy, Resilence, Inspiration, Solidarity and Empowerment. Each spring we benchmark student success by recognizing the rich diversity of students who are graduating from the University of Washington Tacoma. Graduating students are encouraged to invite their family and friends who have supported their academic journey. Activities include a stole ceremony, an inspirational keynote speaker and multicultural performances.
Who can attend?
Our celebration is open to all, both undergraduate and graduate students, including but not limited to those from historically marginalized communities, such as students of color, LGBTQIA+ students, first-generation, adult students, Indigenous, low-income students, veterans, disabled, formerly incarcerated, undocumented, DACAmented and more. Together we are stronger!
