Eligibility Criteria:
- Current UW Tacoma Students or Community College students planning to transfer to UW Tacoma to start Winter Quarter 2024 (Scholarship will be applied towards Winter Quarter 2024 tuition)
- Attend minimum 1 Financial Confidence workshop/Speaker series organized either the Center for Financial Wellness
- Demonstrated commitment to Financial Literacy Education
- Financial aid eligible
How to Apply:
- First and Last Name (per UW registration)
- UW Email
- Intended Major and Anticipated Graduation Date
- CFW Event Attended (Be specific: Date, Event Name, Speaker)
- Video topic and reason why you chose this topic
- Upload your video to [create a place where applicants can upload video]
- Create a 1-minute educational/informational video on building Financial Confidence on a personal finance topic of your choice. (If you need assistance, please contact us at financialwellness@uw.edu) - I think we can post links to examples for students to view.
- Ensure both the application and videos are submitted by the application deadline.
Selection Process:
- Our scholarship committee will review applications and select the most dedicated and enthusiastic candidate who demonstrates a clear understanding of financial literacy concepts and their importance. The scholarship recipients will be notified by [need to determine the date here]
- Scholarship recipients will be required to meet with the selection committee, scholarship sponsor, and/or others.
- Scholarship recipients will release their right to the video to the Center for Financial Wellness for publication on the website and other social media platforms.

With the impact of inflation and increased cost of living, it is important to have the knowledge and skills to manage your money. Creating financial wellness can help you to have control over your finances. It is not how much you earn; it is about being able to make decisions with the money you have to allow you to experience peace of mind.

Scholarship Eligibility
You are eligible for the scholarship if:
- You are a UW Tacoma student currently enrolled in Autumn Quarter 2022 in any UW Tacoma program, not intending to graduate prior to Spring 2023.
- Preference will be given to first-generation, need-based students. But all students are encouraged to apply.
You may not be eligible if:
- You are utilizing tuition-exempt benefits
- Your employer provides tuition reimbursement
