If you have a UW Tacoma Parking Permit and you need to use a loaner or rental vehicle, please use this form to temporarily add the vehicle to your parking permit. We can manually link the rental car to your permit so that it is not associated with you personally, and is marked as a rental vehicle. Please submit this form as soon as you know you will be driving a rental car!
What qualifies as a rental car/loaner car?
- Owned by a business (dealership, rental agency)
- May have many different users
- You will likely never drive the vehicle again
Why shouldn't I just add the car to my permit myself?
When you add a vehicle to your account, you are taking responsibility for that vehicle and any citations that are issued to it. If someone else on campus happens to rent the same vehicle and gets a citation, you would then show up as the person responsible for the citation. If you add a friend's vehicle to your permit, then you may end up being held responsible for citations that your friend gets (or has gotten previously).

What if I get a parking ticket even though I submitted the form?
Submit a request to appeal the citation and include in your explanation that you submitted the form to add the rental vehicle to your permit.
