UW Tacoma's Motor Pool is a third party car rental service coordinated with Enterprise Rent-A-Car by Transportation Services for use by UW Tacoma students, faculty and staff. There is a $25 administrative fee for each motor pool reservation.
Requirements
Motor pool vehicle rental is available to UW Tacoma students, faculty and staff that meet all of the following requirements:
- A valid driver’s license
- Worktag(s) and authorization to use the designated funding source
- Driver Safety & Awareness Training completed within the last two years
All passengers must be eligible riders.
Approval
All Motor Pool requests must be made through the Motor Pool Request Form. Once processed, customers will receive confirmation, and rental information will then be coordinated by the rental company.
All Motor Pool requests by UW Tacoma student groups and organizations must be approved by Conor Leary, Assistant Director of Student Involvement & Leadership. Requests that are not approved will not be processed.
Making a reservation
To account for processing times, reservations should be made a minimum of 5 business days prior to when the vehicle is needed.
- Complete and submit the Motor Pool Request Form
- Transportation Services will contact you if there are any questions about your request
- You will receive a confirmation email from Enterprise once your reservation has been made
Vehicle pickup and return
- Drivers are responsible for vehicle pickup and return to Enterprise Rent-A-Car at 940 Market Street, about half a mile from campus
- Vehicles cannot be returned after hours. Instead, it may be parked in the Laborer's Hall parking lot and returned by the driver during soonest available business hours
- Vehicle must be clean and the gas must be refilled to the level it was at when picked up
Cancellations
For changes or cancellations to your reservation, please use the link in your confirmation email from Enterprise.
- Reservations cancelled one (1) business day prior to the scheduled pick-up date are subject to a $60 fee.
- Reservations cancelled less than one (1) business day in advance of the scheduled pick-up date and "no shows" will be subject to a fee equal to the posted daily rate of the reserved vehicle.
