In addition to the quarterly options available to students, employees may also purchase 9-month and annual permits for extra convenience. As of SUM 2024, single-quarter permits must be paid for via credit/debit, and 9-month and annual permits must be paid through pre-tax payroll deductions.

Pre-tax payroll deduction
Annual and 9-Month permits are paid for by pre-tax payroll deductions. A flat fee is deducted from your paycheck each pay period that your permit is active. You can determine the amount by dividing the annual price by 24 (there are 24 pay periods in a year) or the quarterly cost by 6.
- Permits purchased with payroll deductions are automatically pro-rated
- Payment is split up over the pay periods in which the permit is valid
- You are not back-charged for pay periods prior to your purchase
- Payments end the pay period after you request to cancel your permit
- You can cancel your permit at any time - just submit a request in the "Discontinue your payroll deduction" webform
- Refunds will not be given for payroll deductions unless you were charged in error
Permit Lots and Pricing
Limited quantities of each permit are available and are sold on a first-come first-served basis. Single-quarter permit sales open one week prior to the start of the quarter.
On-Campus Lots
Prices below are per-quarter. Half-Week and Evening permits can only be purchased as single-quarter permits.
You do not need a physical permit displayed when parking in UW Tacoma permit lots, but you DO need to make sure you have your vehicle's information entered correctly into the Parking Portal! We verify that parkers have paid (both hourly and permit) using license plate numbers.
