Traffic Advisories
Traffic disruptions on S 21st Street
The City of Tacoma is completing underground utility work on S 21st Street between Jefferson Ave and Pacific Ave during the Summer of 2024. Transportation Services is working with the City of Tacoma to reduce impacts to campus as much as possible, though some traffic disruptions are expected, especially while crews are working on the north side of the street.
ANTICIPATED PROJECT SCHEDULE
April 30 - June 9: Road work on SOUTH side of street
June 10 - July 31: Road work moves to NORTH side of street, along UWT campus
August 1 - 31: Road work returns to SOUTH side of street
CAMPUS IMPACTS
Access to Dolly Roberson Lane & C Street will be reduced while crews are working on the north side of the street. The City is planning to only block one end of the street at a time so that we can maintain access.
During this time, vehicle access may be limited and the street will not be able to accommodate extra-large vehicles (such as semi-trucks).
If you are expecting any large deliveries that may be impacted by this work, please notify us at transit@uw.edu so that we can coordinate with City staff.
